FAQ: Frequently asked questions
How can I add additional initiators to an organization?
The initiators represent their organization on the platform and can create and manage projects independently. They have unrestricted access to the user interface for project managers, known as the dashboard. To add additional initiators to an organization, please contact us as an authorized representative at start@adhocracy.plus and provide the username/email address of the person. The person must already be registered with a user profile in order to be added as an initiator. The specified email address must be assigned as the primary email address to a user profile.
What should I enter under "Legal Information"?
Organizations on adhocracy+ are responsible for their own content. This means that each organization must ensure that it provides its own terms of use, privacy policy, and legal notice (impressum). In the settings, we have linked the platform’s legal information as a template. Ultimately, it is not us, but the organizations using the platform who are responsible for the content and all information displayed in the footer.
All users who register on adhocracy.plus must agree to the platform’s terms of use and privacy policy.
As a data processor, we cannot provide legal advice and are not authorized to do so. Each organization is solely responsible for its content—this is why there is a graphical and spatial separation between the platform footer and the organization’s footer.
Do I have to register in order to participate on adhocracy.plus?
The active use of the modules requires registration, with two exceptions: the Interactive Event and the Poll Module. All other modules require a deliberately low-threshold registration process with a freely selectable username and an email address. We have opted for a registration requirement for the following reasons:
- The quality of participation is generally higher with registration.
- It is not possible to (re)engage participants without registration, which prevents the establishment of a sustainable participation culture within a municipality.
- Engaging participants during the process is also impossible without registration.
- (Active) moderation of participation is only feasible with registration.
- Rating contributions and proposals on our platform is linked to user accounts. This ensures that a user cannot vote multiple times arbitrarily.
- Registration significantly reduces vulnerability to abuse (e.g., by bots).
Where can I edit my organization’s information?
You can edit your organization’s information by clicking on “Organisation settings” in the top navigation of the dashboard.
The toggle switch for de/en, etc. refers to the content that can be added in multiple languages within the organization settings (“Organisation settings”). This allows you to edit and display the description and information in different languages. When you click on “de”, the German content will be displayed, and you can edit the information accordingly.
How can I delete my user profile?
You can delete your user profile independently by following these steps:
- Go to your user account settings.
- Select the menu item “Delete Account”.
- Enter your password.
- Click “Delete Account”.
- Confirm the deletion to permanently remove your user profile.
Important Note: Deleting your user profile will result in the permanent removal of all associated data and content, including your comments, ideas, and votes. Make sure to back up any important information before deleting your profile.
Who can access private projects?
Private projects are only visible to invited participants and are marked as private in the project overview on the organization’s page.
In the dashboard, you can see who has registered and which invitations are still pending. Participants can only access the private project once they have accepted the invitation. Otherwise, they will see an error message. Additionally, the person must be logged in with a user profile that contains the same email address used for the invitation. By clicking the cross next to an invitation, you can revoke it and resend a new one if necessary—this can be helpful if someone has lost the original invitation email.
We recommend sending a separate email to all participants to inform them about the private project and remind them to accept the invitation.
