Supermarket self checkout
Projektvorschlag
Supermarkets seem to be one of the last major meeting places, and seems a major potential site for spreading the virus.
Most checkouts are now fitted with clear plastic protection for workers. However, if a customer with the virus transfers that to their goods, this then gets handled by the checkout worker and is then spread to every other item they handle for the rest of that day.
If a handheld scanner could be connected to the regular checkout system and pointed against the clear plastic, shoppers could scan their own products, reducing the risk of the virus spreading between users and workers.
